Our approach

BRAC’s emergency response efforts are informed by the post-2015 agenda and guided through international humanitarian principles, standards, and guidelines. This helps ensure downwards accountability, and the support to reach the affected population with due dignity.

Our response to local, national, and global crises and disasters is effective, efficient, gender-sensitive, needs- and evidence-based. It is adequate in scale and reach, and linked to BRAC’s development programmes through the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.

We work with government at national and local level and other stakeholders to maximise response delivery at the earliest hour of the crises. Our dynamic field teams, robust resources, profound grassroots stakeholder engagement and unique adaptability to address emerging needs, has, over time, made us a leader in delivering quality-driven emergency response and recovery interventions.
